Young Muslim voice is a partnership project with Islington Council (list up) and Back 2 Basics Somali Arts & Education.

This project was base two Islington Secondary Schools to, and was a pilot project.

The project had 2 phases of 10 weeks each in a School.

The idea was to understand young peoples views and understanding of diverse Faith, in terms of Art and design and how it has influence over the years both the west and Middle East from the ST, PETERS CAT IN Roma to the Dome of the Rock In Jerusalem .to the Blue Mosque in Turkey and how other cultures and faiths has come to influance, over the years through travel. This was broaden the children view both in art form and in diverse culture and faiths and how travelling was important both these Faiths have travel great deal.

We started first with different DOMES /with great architecture and to understand, the Artist history behind such builds, not to mention how they come about or construct.

Secondly we took the children to Victory of and Albert Museum to see the Jameel Gallery and so on.

Main points Of the workshops was that most children were happy and eager to leaning each others faiths and sometimes certain question was asked like Identity and, most children were not concern about the faith aspects of the project but most concern of the artist way the project was delivery and were more eager to learn about.

Children’s did talk about the different faiths and were quite surprises to see the different symbols of faith and sometimes did not realise they represent a faith other than nice design. Secondly, the project examine the experiences of Muslim youth face collectively and individually in school play ground, outside of school, in the larger host community as well as how Muslims are portrayed in the media.
